RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. – Oct. 30, 2017 – Park West Companies, a leading provider of landscape construction, landscape management and tree care services, participated this year in the annual “When I Grow Up Day” at Pretend City Children’s Museum in Irvine, Calif.
The event featured a wide range of professionals from around the Southern California community, enabling children to explore and expand their imaginations by learning about potential careers that might intrigue them.
As a featured participant in the event, Park West joined other exhibitors from healthcare, utilities, public safety and other fields for a day dedicated to entertaining and educating the hundreds of children in attendance with their families. The kids sat in the driver’s seat of the Park West bus, had their photo taken on one of its tractors and took home a tomato plant, which the Park West team helped them plant.
“These kinds of activities provide wonderful opportunities for us to give back, support local organizations making a difference, and represent our industry to new generations of future professionals,” said Park West CEO Jim Tracy. “And, at the same time, we’re able to showcase the value of landscaping and the role it plays in a sustainable environment. It was a special day for the kids and for Park West.”
Pretend City Children’s Museum presents “the world in a nut shell.” It is designed to teach children how communities work in a child-sized, interconnected city where kids can play, learn and assume real-world roles.
